Frequently Asked Questions
Wild & Wiser is a nature-led gathering for women who want to slow down, reconnect and remember who they are beneath the noise of everyday life.
It’s a blend of:
• Wellbeing and movement
• Creativity and play
• Honest conversations about life, work and purpose
• Music, laughter, dancing, comedy and shared moments
This isn’t a silent retreat, and it’s not a party-for-the-sake-of-it festival either.
It’s about grounding and joy, reflection and release.
Wild & Wiser is for women of every stage of life.
We warmly welcome all women, including trans women and those who identify as women, who feel aligned with the purpose and spirit of the event.
This is a space grounded in respect, care and shared experience, and we ask all attendees to engage in a way that supports the safety, comfort and wellbeing of everyone present.
Warm, welcoming and inclusive — with space for both depth and letting go.
Across the weekend you’ll find:
• Practical and inspiring talks and workshops
• Time in nature, with big skies
• Laughter and play
• Dancing and DJs, optional singing
• Honest conversations
You can go deep, stay light, or do both.
Nothing is compulsory — this is your weekend, at your pace.
Wild & Wiser is not suitable for younger children.
The content, atmosphere and schedule are designed for adults and older teens, allowing everyone attending to fully relax, engage and feel safe in an adult-centred space.
No dogs are permitted on site, including dogs on leads or in vehicles.
This is for safety, comfort and in line with site regulations.
No.
There are no advance bookings for sessions. All sessions are:
• First come, first served
• Capacity-limited for safety and quality
We’ll do our best to programme repeats and manage flow so everyone can experience a rich weekend, but access to specific sessions can’t be guaranteed.
Wild & Wiser takes place at Wooders Campsite, a beautiful rural site surrounded by woodland, open skies and nature.
It’s intentionally simple, spacious and grounding — not a manicured luxury venue.
Wooders is a working campsite and we won’t have exclusive use of the full site, so some facilities are shared.
You can expect:
• Showers and toilets on site - rustic and functional, not luxury
• Additional “posh loos” brought in for the festival
• Communal marquees, outdoor stages and gathering spaces
Facilities are clean and well maintained, but this is a countryside festival — not a hotel.
Yes.
You can:
• Bring your own tent
• Arrive by campervan (with the appropriate ticket)
Glamping is available at an additional cost and is:
• Booked directly with Perfect Party Tents
• Subject to availability
• Separate from your Wild & Wiser ticket
Full details will be shared once tickets are live.
No problem at all — there are a number of hotels, B&Bs and cosy inns within a short drive of Wooders Campsite if camping isn’t your thing. Some nearby options include:
• Priory Wareham (https://www.priorywareham.co.uk/)– Elegant country house hotel in Wareham
• The Bear Wareham (https://thebearwareham.co.uk/)– Stylish inn with rooms, bar and restaurant
• Springfield Country Hotel Leisure Club & Spa (https://thespringfield.co.uk/)– Larger hotel with pool and spa facilities
There are also great B&Bs, guesthouses and Airbnb-style stays in Wareham, Wool, Bere Regis and the surrounding area — perfect if you want something quieter or more self-contained.
We do expect local accommodation to book up early, so if you’d prefer not to camp we recommend booking soon to secure what you want.
Dress for comfort and the weather.
Think:
• Layers
• Waterproofs
• Sturdy shoes or boots
• Cosy jumpers
• Clothes you’re happy to sit, move and dance in
This is a heels-off, real-life event.
There is no general power supply for personal devices.
Please bring:
• A fully charged phone
• A power bank if needed
We actively encourage disconnecting to reconnect and being as present as possible. There will be photographers capturing the weekend and even an opportunity for your own professional headshot.
Food isn’t included in your ticket — but you’ll be well fed, we promise.
Across the weekend we’ll be hosting a lovely selection of local food traders, serving up nourishing, feel-good food from morning through to evening. You’ll find vegan, vegetarian and other dietary options, so whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, there’ll be something that works for you.
You’re also very welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks if that feels easier.
We’re currently exploring an optional weekend food package with our food partners — a simple, good-value way to take the thinking out of meals and let you fully sink into the experience. More on this soon.
A couple of gentle asks

Yes.
There will be:
• A bar open on Friday evening for early arrivals
• Bar service from late afternoon on Saturday.
The bar will take both card and cash.
There will be music, DJs, dancing and joyful noise earlier in the evening.
However, due to site and local authority rules:
• No amplified music is permitted after 11pm
• Quiet hours must be respected
We're grateful to you for honouring this to ensure we can relax, enjoy ourselves and be welcomed back.
For everyone’s safety and wellbeing, the possession or use of illegal substances is not permitted anywhere on site.
Anyone found doing so may be asked to leave the event immediately, without refund.
Yes.
There will be:
• A designated first aid point
• An information hub for questions and support
• A small festival shop stocking basic essentials
Yes — arriving by public transport is absolutely possible, and we’re keen to support lower-impact ways of getting here where we can 🌍
By train
The nearest station is Wareham, which is well connected on the South Western Main Line.
• From London: There are regular direct trains from London Waterloo, typically around every hour.
• Journey time: Approximately 2.5–3 hours, depending on the service.
• Wareham is also easily reached from Southampton, Bournemouth and Poole.
Once you arrive at Wareham station, Wooders Campsite is around 4–5 miles away.
From the station to site
The easiest option is a local taxi. The journey usually takes 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.
Local taxi firms you may want to pre-book include:
• Purbeck Taxis
• Central Cars Wareham
• Swanage Taxis
We strongly recommend booking taxis in advance, especially for arrival on Friday evening or Saturday morning, as availability can be limited in rural Dorset.
A little heads-up
Wooders is a rural woodland site, so public transport options are more limited once you leave the train line. If you’re travelling solo and would like to share a taxi with others arriving at a similar time, we’ll be looking at ways to help people connect ahead of the weekend.
If you need help planning your journey, just drop us a message — we’re happy to help you figure out the smoothest route 🌲✨
Yes — and it’s included in your ticket price 🙌
There will be free on-site parking available for all Wild & Wiser guests throughout the weekend.
We encourage car sharing wherever possible — it’s lighter on the planet and often a nicer way to arrive together.
A small thing to note:
You won’t be able to park directly next to your tent. Parking is in a designated area, and you’ll then walk to the camping field.
• The walk is no more than 5 minutes
• The ground is relatively flat
• We strongly recommend bringing a trolley or wheeled cart to help carry camping gear and heavier items
If you have specific access needs or concerns, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to support you.
All tickets are non-refundable.
Tickets can be transferred to another attendee.
In rare and exceptional circumstances, refunds may be considered strictly in line with our Terms & Conditions, but this is not guaranteed.
Absolutely. Many people will.
Wild & Wiser is designed to feel welcoming whether you arrive solo or with friends. There’s no pressure to already know anyone, and no expectation to be “on” — just space to arrive as you are.
If you’d like to connect with others ahead of the weekend, we’ll also be creating gentle ways for participants to meet and connect in advance. That might be as simple as an online space to say hello, share where you’re travelling from, or find friendly faces before you arrive.
And if you’d rather keep to yourself for a while, that’s completely welcome too.
Come alone. You won’t feel lonely.
Yes.
Photographs and short videos will be taken during Wild & Wiser to capture the atmosphere and experience of the weekend. These may be used for future Wild & Wiser promotional purposes, including our website, social media and marketing materials.
By purchasing a ticket and attending the event, you are providing consent for this use, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please speak to a member of the Wild & Wiser team on arrival and we will do our best to ensure this is respected.
We’ll always aim to capture the spirit of the event in a way that feels respectful and aligned with the values of the community.
This is an outdoor focused event and will go ahead rain or shine. Extreme wind may be the only reason we have to postpone for safety.
Please pack appropriately — being in nature, whatever the weather, is part of the experience.
More details — including full schedules, speakers and traders — will be shared closer to the event.
